Every line here is a standalone, quotable figure from the August 7, 2026 index.

These are the nine kanna products that returned a live price when we checked all 13 tracked ASINs through the Amazon Creators API on August 7, 2026. In July this table had two rows; the difference is both new listings arriving on Amazon and our registry expanding to track them. Per-capsule and per-gummy figures use the documented label counts; per-mg figures use the disclosed extract dose, and blends that do not isolate the kanna milligrams say not computed.

The four exclusions are unchanged from July, which is a finding in itself. Double Wood's Amazon listing is still dead (the product sells from the brand's own site), and all three Amazing Botanicals listings, the Kannaflow Mood Gummies, the Platinum kanna tincture, and the 100mg kanna tincture, remain out of stock with no price. The brands that joined the live shelf are different companies entirely: a mainstream nootropics name (Natural Stacks), NOW's practitioner line (Protocol for Life Balance), and three Amazon-native newcomers (Sembra, Youphoria, AkinKanna, Organiherbence). The whole market we track, ranked by the low end of the documented price. The nine Amazon rows are live August 7, 2026 figures; every other price is the documented list price from our published review of that product, verified against the vendor's live listing when the review was written and shown as a range where the vendor sells multiple sizes. Per-serving figures appear only where a label count or a published per-dose figure exists.

Capsules are the cheapest documented serving in kanna, and the format with the most live competition. Five capsule products are now live on Amazon: the studied 25mg Zembrin dose costs $0.39 (NOW), $0.43 (Doctor's Best), or $0.67 (Protocol for Life Balance) per capsule, Natural Stacks' NeuroFuel blend lands at $0.44, and Sembra's 30-count fermented KannaFocus at $0.87. Double Wood's 120-count bottle still works out to $0.25 to $0.35 per 50mg capsule at its documented list range. The quiet headline holds from July: the exact extract and dose used in kanna's published human studies is also close to the cheapest way to take it, about 1.6 cents per milligram. Quick-dissolve extract tablets run $0.25 to $0.70 per dose at the documented figures for LiftMode and Nootropics Depot, a modest premium over capsules that buys faster onset and batch COAs. Gummies are now the priciest computed serving on the live shelf: Youphoria's 12-count jar discloses 50mg per gummy and costs $3.33 per piece, about 6.7 cents per milligram, roughly 4x the studied capsule's per-mg cost; the out-of-stock Kannaflow gummies listed at a documented $0.83 to $1.17 per 25mg gummy. The new formats mostly price convenience, not disclosed potency. AkinKanna's $35.00 sublingual strips are the fastest oral format on Amazon but do not document a per-strip kanna milligram, and Organiherbence's $22.90 drops are the cheapest liquid route but state no concentration, so neither gets a per-serving figure here. Tinctures remain the premium tier: KA!'s $79 tincture, the only one with a documented per-serving figure, works out to roughly $1.30 to $2.60 per serving. Powders and concentrates are the opposite trade: Phytoextractum's 100x extract starts at $5.99 and LiftMode's MT55 lands at a documented $0.25 to $0.60 per dose, the lowest serving costs on the board, in exchange for doing your own measuring with a milligram scale, which is why we only recommend them to experienced users.

Three structural reasons show up in our own data. First, standardization costs money: the products at the top of the price list (KA!, The Alchemist's Kitchen, the 12% and 5.1%+ assays) are the ones paying for measured alkaloid content and batch testing, while the cheapest entries (raw shredded plant, ratio-labeled 100x concentrate) skip the assay and hand the measuring problem to you. Second, kanna is a thin, specialist supply chain: Sceletium tortuosum is a niche South African botanical, not a commodity crop. That said, the August data softens July's version of this point: the Amazon shelf jumped from 2 live products to 9 in three weeks, mainstream brands are arriving, and marketplace competition is exactly what eventually compresses specialist prices. Third, format is most of the price: the same nominal extract dose costs $0.39 as a studied capsule, $3.33 as a 50mg gummy, and up to $2.60 as a premium tincture serving. You are mostly paying for the delivery vehicle, not the plant.

The honest flip side: per serving, kanna extract is not actually expensive. At $0.25 to $0.70 for most capsule and tablet doses, a daily kanna habit costs less than almost any other standardized botanical we cover, and far less than the sticker prices suggest. The expensive kanna is the convenient, consumer-packaged kanna.

No, unless you buy it in its fanciest wrapper. The studied dose costs about $12 a month as a capsule, the typical tracked product lists in the $20 to $40 band (the 9 live Amazon products average $29.93), and even the cheapest real concentrate starts under $6. The formats that feel expensive, KA!'s chews and tincture at $35 to $89 and the new $3.33-per-piece Amazon gummies, are priced as premium consumer wellness products, and on a per-serving basis they cost four to ten times the capsule route to the same plant. Decide the format first; the price follows from that decision more than from the brand.
